Ian Sheppard FI(R)

Ian holds PPL (EASA and FAA) and CPL (EASA) with FI(R) and privileges to fly with PPLs for biennial 'hour with instructor' for SEP revalidation. Happy to come along as a safety pilot for moderate remuneration/expenses.

He has a BEng(Hons) Aero Engineering and ATPL theory. Aviation journalist for 25 years. Current Class 1 medical.

He is happy to fly your aircraft and has flown various types such as PA-28, C172, C150/152, Arrow, TB10. He currently does some instructing with Harvard Aviation.

Ian can travel to other airfields around London or beyond, but the ones he knows best are Redhill and Fairoaks.I have an office at Redhill for my work for aviation publishers such as Aviation International News (US) and GA Buyer Europe.

He also has legal qualifications (GDL/LPC) and acts as unpaid communications adviser to the GAAC (of which AOPA is a member and the main supporter). This is to try to keep a viable network of airfields in the UK in the face of constant threats from housing developers.

Ian is available at any time, subject to prior arrangement. He charges £30 per Hour, or £200 per Day plus associated expenses at cost. Owner/pilot pays for all landing fees etc. associated with any flight.
